Today I want to talk about Kombucha. Which is obviously completely unrelated to those Banana Oatmeal Cookies, but I understand you won't obey.

Let me begin by saying that my husband beverages apple cider vinegar mixed with water daily to reduce inflammation or something like that.

He claims it is magical. I assert it's nasty.

While I understand this will seem spectacular (because it is)I actually dry heave at the sight and smell of his early ritual on a daily basis. He loves that about me.

Based on this reaction, one would believe I would stay far away from Kombucha, correct? I mean, after all, it surely has a vinegary tang.

However, for any reason, I continue trying it. I Would like to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are super simple to make and filled with banana taste.

I am literally a marketer's dream because each and every time I see someone I know loving a sip, or realising their favourite brand and flavor with a boomerang on Instagram, I'm all,"Maybe you will really taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the term appreciating cause I find it tough to think this stuff is truly enjoyable in any sense of the word.

And spoiler alert. None of them taste great. None.

Even those that people claim are mild are a major no-go for me. They still taste like freaking bubbly vinegar.

I'm basically convinced that anybody who drinks this fermented tea material includes zero taste buds, or seriously awesome ones.

I've literally tried every single brand that my community market conveys and that I HATED, maybe not overdone, HATED each one.

Yes, I know hate is a really strong word, but there is actually no other way to describe my emotions towards kombucha. And I only had to inform y’all of my true feelings about this one. Who is with me?

Let's completely switch gears. One thing I adore? Cookies.

From no bake cookies and easy sugar cookies to these banana oatmeal biscuits, it has been a love affair that's gone on here at MBA for nearly a decade today.

While I'm not claiming these banana oatmeal biscuits will be the least wholesome (because hello sugar and butter), I am claiming that they are delicious.

They have the ideal quantity of banana taste and a lovely chewy feel as a result of its oats. The chocolate chips are simply an extra bonus.

Everybody who attempted these banana oatmeal biscuits believed they tasted a lot like banana bread, but obviously with an entirely different texture. We dug it around here.

And in my estimation, they are good a excellent alternative to traditional banana bread.



These Banana Oatmeal Cookies have a soft, chewy websites texture. If you're looking for a traditional oatmeal cookie, then this isn't the cookie cutter you're searching for. I enjoy these biscuits somewhat on the undercooked side, therefore I bake them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you want them to be cooked through, I'd shoot for 10-11 minutes.

I'll mention that the oats makes them seem as a breakfast cookiecutter, therefore they are all types of amazing using a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning.

I'd add some chopped peppers to a batch instead of chocolate chips, however, everybody definitely favored the chocolate chips on the nuts.

These biscuits are a fantastic way to use those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter tops at this time. I will not even tell anyone they're not actually breakfast cookies. Enjoy!

BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES



PRINT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature



1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 1/4 cup old fashioned oats



DIRECTIONS:





Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then mix in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl again and add in the mashed bananas and vanilla.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.



Use a moderate cookie scoop (approximately 1.5 tablespoons) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and lightly press on the shirts of each cookie using the bottom of a drinking glass. Considering these cookies do not spread much, this can help give them a conventional cookie form.

Enable the banana oatmeal cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool thoroughly.
